Live Sculpting
People are intrigued by ice and the carving process. Best suited for outdoor installations, carving on site creates a spectacle with the sound of the power tools and snow flying through the air. We can taylor a live carving to your needs in terms of duration and audience interaction. Interactive ideas can be carving people's names into the ice, or creating ice drink glasses / mugs for them on site. There are no rules - it's just another way to create someting unique associated with your brand.

2015 World Cup Ski Race Candidacy

In December of 2009 the Vail Valley Foundation wanted to announce Vail / Beaver Creek's candidacy for the 2015 World Cup Finals for ski racing. This happened with the 8 foot tall by 10 foot wide installation pictured here. Sculptor Paul Wertin carved the piece on site and after completing the sculpture, remained at the location and carved kids' names into the ice as they passed on their way to the grand stands. This provided a great opportunity for people to interact with the installation and ask questions about the 2015 candidacy... and yes, the World Cup Finals races will be held in Vail / BC in 2015, see you there!

Yellowfin Tuna Sculpture at La Tour Restaurant

Drinks on the patio while the sculpture is created! This yellowfin sculpture was created on site as the centerpiece for a patio gathering in front of the restaurant. The sculpture was also an advertisement for their up-coming tuna themed dinner. This was carved in early spring, so the fish stayed around for a few weeks.

    Man of the Cliff

Man of the Cliff is a rugged, outdoor event held annually in Red Cliff, Colorado - proceeds from which benefit First Descents. First Descents provides whitewater kayaking and other outdoor adventure experiences to promote emotional, psychological and physical healing for young adults with cancer. The event includes competitions in activities like axe throwing, wood chopping, two-man (or woman) cross cut and archery. We carved a 3-dimensional representation of their logo live at the event and also created personalized ice beer mugs as raffle prizes. A great event for a great cause.
